Emily Irene VanCamp was originally keen on becoming a professional dancer but after a visit to Katie's set on Ladies Room, she became more interested in acting. When she was taking acting classes and directing, she was also offered the roles of guest stars on TV shows. She has appeared in many shows, including Are You afraid of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career took off after his role for the part of Sam Dolan, a regular on WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. While receiving praise from the critics, but the show's low ratings ultimately led to it having to be cancelled after just nine episodes. The 12th of May, 1986 actress was quickly offered a second part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the principal characters. The actress was nominated in the award for four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
